Real change starts locally with you
Change begins with you
The Barry County Democrats are reaching out to ALL area residents who believe that we need to return to reason and good governance at all levels of the political scene. Democrats invite you to join them to bring great ideas and strong partnerships to the table. We support family farms, affordable healthcare, rural broadband, clean energy, the Earned Income Tax Credit, livable wages, and public education. Democrats embrace the diversity of backgrounds, cultures, and personalities that makes this country such an exquisite melting pot of humankind.
We will be actively supporting democrats running for office in Barry County, the state and national levels in the 2024 elections. All positions, all votes count! Even though our state elections were successful (we won House and Senate majorities!), we cannot rest. There are still Republicans determined to bend school and health department boards, township clerk offices, and many other offices, to force their agenda on the communities despite the popular will.

The two-term representative and ally of President Donald Trump said in his announcement on social media that he felt compelled to run because Michigan is “being held back by the lack of strong, competent leadership.”
“For the past seven years, Michigan has been dominated by radical, out-of-touch policies that have hurt our families, our communities, and our economy,” James said on X, and highlighted his close relationship with Trump. “It’s time to get Michigan’s government out of fantasyland and back to commonsense.”
